Get Indian
artifacts ID’d
this Saturday

Do you have an Indian artifact but don’t know what it was used for? Or maybe you have a collection of bottles that need dating. If so, stop by the Clarke County Museum Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. where archaeologists will be available to answer your questions about historical artifacts.

Archaeologists with the University of Alabama and the University of South Alabama will be at the museum to celebrate Archaeology Week in the state. They will be on hand to answer questions from the public regarding most types of artifacts from Native Americans to historical things like nails, dishes, bottles and tools. Even looking at artifacts, the archaeologists can help date items, tell what they were used for, and where they came from. The archaeologists cannot appraise items and will not be examining fossils.

The event is free. The museum is located at the intersection of Jackson and Cobb Streets in Grove Hill. For information, call 251-275-8684.
