FCA starts
year with
pole event

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting was held around the Clarke Preparatory School’s flagpole with the theme "See You at the Poll" Sept. 17.

Students, faculty, parents and supporters were in attendance as the devotion was led by Bro. Mark Lambert. He challenged the students to be in prayer for each other and to be responsible citizens. In conclusion, Candice Dunnam and Brandi Nichols led the group in a couple of praise choruses.

The annual membership sign-up had been held until Tuesday, Oct. 7. The membership meets the first Wednesday of every month for biscuits, juice and fellowship led by different speakers each month.

The highlight of the year is the annual trip to the Mobile Convention Center for the FCA Senior Bowl Banquet. The students always look forward to hearing the Christian players and the featured speaker.

The first FSC meeting in the cafeteria was Oct. 1. The speaker was Chris "Buff" McNickle. There were over 50 students in attendance to enjoy the fellowship and listen to the challenge presented by Buff.

The next meeting will be held Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7:15 a.m. in the CPS Cafeteria.

The FCA Sponsor is Mrs. Sharon Nichols.
