Jackson police investigate
forgery of a prescription

Jackson police are investigating a prescription forgery. A patient at Jackson Medical Center was issued a prescription Oct. 4. The prescription was taken to a local pharmacy and the pharmacists noticed there were two prescriptions written, but they were not in the same handwriting.

The doctor was notified and it was determined the pain medication, Lortab, hadn’t been prescribed by the doctor. The prescription was not filled and was not given back to the patient. The case is under investigation according to reporting officer Darrell Jackson.

A student at Jackson High School reported the burglary of his vehicle while it was parked at the school Oct. 3. The incident is believed to have occurred between 7:45 and 11:45 that morning. A CD player and CDs were stolen. The loss is estimated at $1,200 as reported by Officer Lem DuBose. The case is under investigation.

Audrey Yelder, 31, of Jackson was arrested by Officer Alice Jenkins Oct. 1 and charged with failure to appear.

Travis Darrell Lucyies, 18, of Jackson was arrested Oct. 1 by Officer Alice Jenkins and charged with burglary.

Jackson police officers responded to 88 calls for service, issued 10 warning citations and 40 other citations, conducted 69 business contacts and investigated three traffic accidents during the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 5.

Correction

In Billie Reid’s Coffeeville news last week, sympathy was extended to the family of Sonny Hoven when it should have read the Sonny House family. The error was The Democrat’s, and not Mrs. Reid’s and we apologize profusely to all parties concerned.
