Grant for school libraries

The Clarke County School System was one of two systems in the state to receive an Improving Literacy Through School Media Centers grant. Seventy-three grants were awarded nationwide. The grant will be used to update print collections, replace outdated media center book collections and improve media center technology at the schools. Pictured are school librarians, front, left to right, Kasey Fleming, Assistant Superintendent Willie Williams, Superintendent Gerald Stephens and Sallie Brown; back, left to right, Barbara Whittington, Alice Moore, Susan Burton, Jan South and Sherry Warren.
