Miss Allison Brooke Osborn and Mr. David Louis Rogers were united in marriage on June 11, 2005 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Thomasville Baptist Church with Rev. Upon entering the church, the guests were registered by Amber DeVore of Citronelle, cousin of the bride.

Mrs. Alton Drinkard, cousin of the bride, played a collection of the couple’s favorite hymns prior to the ceremony. Mrs. Ricky Rush was organist for the occasion.

The altar was decorated with four candle trees tied with greenery and white tulle. Green plants wrapped with white tulle were placed in the choir loft and other areas of the sanctuary. A massive arrangement of flowers of the bride’s chosen colors of blue and pink were used to complete the altar setting. The candles were lit by John Brandon Osborn, brother of the bride, and John Rogers, brother of the groom. White tulle, white roses and greenery were used to mark pews designated for family members.

After the mothers and grandmothers were seated, Rev. George Weeks, sang “The Parent’s Prayer.” He and Karen Dean joined in singing “When God Made You” as the bride and groom walked to the altar.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a white strapless gown for her wedding. The gown was embroidered satin and featured a wide band of embroidery on the bodice trimmed with crystals and rhinestones. The dropped waistline and slim A-line skirt featured a pyramid of intricate embroidery that finished with a wide hemline band matching that shown on the bodice. The train also featured the same embroidery as that on the skirt. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses, wax flowers and variegated pittisporum. The stems were wrapped in white satin and a handkerchief belonging to the bride’s late maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mae Beth Andrews, was attached.

Her other attendants were Becki Grice of Tallassee, Ellen Spinks Gates of Thomasville, Julie Stoves Cox of Birmingham, Amanda Murray Wood of Olive Branch, Miss., Brandy Martin of Auburn and Anna Rogers, sister of the groom, of Tallassee. They wore European satin drop waist gowns in a pale shade of blue. The gown had a contrasting cuff at the neckline and contrasting band with an off-center bow at the hip. Their hand-tied bouquets contained pink roses, pink stargazer lilies, blue delphiniums, irises and interspersed with greenery. Victoria Hope Johnson of Mobile served as flower girl. She wore a white silk tea length dress with a sheer overlay. The empire bodice featured a wide sash of white satin. White ballet slippers completed her outfit. Reception

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship center. The bride’s table was covered with a white tablecloth with an ecru topper that featured tassels of pearls. The table held a four-tiered white wedding cake topped with fresh fruit. Each layer of the cake also was topped with fresh fruit. Appointments in silver and crystal were used. The engraved knife and server were given to the couple by Rev. and Mrs. Don Stephens. The cake was served by Joyful Walter of Alex City and Amber DeVore. Also, completing the bride’s table was her wedding bouquet.

Nuts and green apple slices with caramel dip were also served. Serving the groom’s cake were his cousins, Lowrey Lane of Lowndesboro and Alison Rogers of Nashville, Tenn. Featured on his table were antique firetrucks that his family has collected.

Four long tables with a fruit cascade in the center, held an array of foods. Floral arrangements in pink and blue were placed on each table. A punch fountain, along with iced tea and lemon water provided refreshment to the guests.

Individual tables, topped with a pale blue topper and adorned with a tall floral arrangement in pink and blue, were placed throughout. The fellowship center also featured a memory table and held pictures of the bride and groom at various stages in their lives. The table also held a porcelain bride doll made by Inez Andrews, aunt of the bride. The dress was identical to that worn by the bride and designed by Annie Lou Downey of Grove Hill.

The reception was directed by Dianne Day of Grove Hill. She was assisted by Beth DeVore, cousin of the bride, of Citronelle.
