Brunson

Ethel Brown Brunson, 85, of Jackson died May 12, 2006 at a local hospital.

She was born July 26, 1920. She was a native of Theodore. She was a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Jackson. She was a member of the Jackson Home Extension Club. She was a retired business owner.

Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie B. (Billy) Harrison, Jackson; one brother, Sidney Brown, Chattanooga, Tenn.; four sisters, Jeanette Pruitt, Martha McDonald, both of Jackson, Dorothy Nell Lee, Manuel, Texas, Gloria Cochran, Lafayette, La.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The service was May 13 at 3 p.m. at Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Jackson. Burial was in the Trinity Memorial Gardens. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.

Howard

Tony Dean Howard, 48, of Deer Head died May 10, 2006 at a local hospital.

He was born Oct. 16, 1957. He was a native of Jackson. He was a member of the Washington Baptist Church. He had served 14 years as athletic trainer for Leroy High School. He was a retired shipper at Olin Chemical.

Survivors include his parents, Henry and Shirley Howard, Deer Head; his wife, Karen M. Howard, Deer Head; five sons, Chris (Susie) Howard, Alan (Amanda) Howard, Andin Howard, all of Deer Head, Jason (Julie) Howard, Luthersville, Ga., Ryan (Tori) McRae, Pearl, Miss.; two brothers, Wayne Howard, Gulf Shores, Phillip Howard, Copeland; four grandchildren.

The service was May 13 at 10 a.m. at the Washington Baptist Church. Burial was in the Old Washington Baptist Church Cemetery. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.

Foster

Willie Joseph (W.J.) Foster, 76, of Thomasville died May 9, 2006 at his residence.

He was born Oct. 28, 1929. Survivors include his wife, Mattie M. Foster, Thomasville; five sons, Willie Foster Jr., George Foster, Robert Foster, David Foster, all of Thomasville, Leander Foster, Saraland; four daughters, Brenda Jones, Tina Blount, Thomasville, Elois Payne, Montgomery, Janet Garrett, Mobile; two sisters, Louise Rowden, Maggie Smith, Thomasville; 34 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

The service was May 13 at 2 p.m. at New Hope #1 Baptist Church. Burial was in the New Hope #1 Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. James G. Curry officiating. Thomasville Memorial Funeral Home directed.

Hudson

Eddie B. Hudson, 58, of Dixons Mills died May 8, 2006.

He was born Oct. 7, 1947. Survivors include two sons, Garner Hudson, Sacramento, Calif., Andrea Hudson, Dixons Mills; one daughter, Charlotte Jones, Mobile; four grandchildren; his mother, Carrie M. Hudson, Dixons Mills; three brothers, Elder Jimmy Hudson, Birmingham, Richard Hudson Jr., Stanley Hudson, Dixons Mills; three sisters, Belinda Hudson, Sandra Hudson, Dixons Mills, Nanette Pritchett, Dixons Mills.

The service was May 13 at 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Dixons Mills with Rev. John Dees officiating. Burial was in the Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Dixons Mills. Thomasville Memorial Funeral Home directed.

Martin

Grace Martin, 83, of Thomasville died May 8, 2006 at Jackson Healthcare Service.

She was born Mar. 9, 1923. Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Walker, Wynderlyn Benjamin, Sherron McCoy, Thomasville; two stepsons, Oneal Martin, John Anderson, both of Thomasville; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.

The service was May 12 at 1 p.m. at the New Greater First Baptist Church in Thomasville with Rev. Carlton Hogue officiating. Burial was in the New Greater First Baptist Church Cemetery. Thomasville Memorial Funeral Home directed.

Thomas

James Thomas, 70, of Mobile died May 8, 2006. He was born Jan. 12, 1936.

Survivors include his wife, Leotha Thomas, Mobile; two sons, James Thomas Jr., Walter Thomas, Mobile; six daughters, Linda Thomas, Patricia Burkes, Odessa Thomas, Arnette Steven, Denver, Colo., Debra Thomas, Mary Rodlien, Mobile; four brothers; three sisters; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

The service was May 14 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Thomasville Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Thomas Jr. officiating. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Jackson. Thomasville Memorial Funeral Home directed.

Wilson

Rosa "Ann" Wilson, 79, of Davison, Mich. died May 12, 2006. She was a native of Whatley.

Survivors include two sons, Elbert (Ethel) Wilson, Flint, Mich., Earl (Doris) Wilson, Grove Hill; three daughters, Carrie (Edward) Johnston, Grand Blanc, Mich., Shirley (Booker) Johnson, Flint, Mich, Wilola (Jeffery) Klein, Charlotte, N.C.; and a host of grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Wilson Sr. and one son, Newman Wilson.

Visitation will be at Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church Saturday, May 20 at 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon with Rev. Prospere Sainvilus officiating. Burial will be in the Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery. Reese Funeral Home of Thomasville will direct.
