Bobby R. Horton, 69, of Grove Hill died July 28, 2006 in Jackson.
He was born Dec. 10, 1936. He was a former resident of Leroy. He was a member of the Worldwide Church of God. He was a member of the Amateur Radio Club. He loved his work, spending time with his family and helping those in need. He was an employee of Bruister and Associates/Direct TV.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Shepard Horton, Grove Hill; one son, John Shepard Horton, Northport; two brothers, Coma Horton, Grove Hill, Jerry Horton, Jackson; twin sister, Betty Smith, Chatom; two grandchildren.
A graveside service was July 30 at 3 p.m. at the Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Leroy with Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directed.
Mickey Lawrence Wiggins, 50, of Mobile died July 25, 2006 in a Mobile area nursing care facility.
He was born Feb. 5, 1956. He was a native of Monroeville and a former resident of Grove Hill. He was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church. He was active as a Youth Coach at St. Paul's and in middle school. He was a graduate and supporter of Grove Hill Academy. He was an avid University of Alabama fan.
Survivors include his wife, Vikki Edwards Wiggins; one son, Andrew Lawrence Wiggins, Mobile; one daughter, Blair Christine Wiggins, Mobile; his mother, Augustine M. Wiggins, Frisco City; two brothers, Larry (Connie) Wiggins, Anniston and Wayne (Rhonda) Wiggins, Frisco City; one sister, Linda (Glen) Bedsole, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and other relatives.
The funeral was July 29 at 10 a.m. from the Chapel of Radney-Belmany Funeral Home in Mobile with Rev. Jimmy Butts officiating. Burial was in the Grove Hill Cemetery at 2 p.m.
Active Pallbearers were Billy Hamilton, Michael Gene Powell, Ralph Garrick, Randy Christian, Dr. Daniel Dennis, Jack Granade, Andy Robbins and Glen Wood.
Honorary Pallbearers were Michael Bedsole, Craig Davis, Bruce Johnson, Jacob Stabler, James McKinley and Dr. William Lightfoot.
