Hartman

Viola Dolbear Hartman, 87, of Jackson died Oct. 20, 2006 at her residence.

She was born July 13, 1919 in Jackson. She was a member of McCann's United Methodist Church. She was a cosmetologist with King Swanson.

Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Clolinger, Jackson; three step-daughters, Julia Jean Walters, Barbara Joan O'Hear, Donna Lorane Gibbons, all of Mobile; three brothers, Clyde Dolbear, David Dolbear, both of Jackson, Gene Dolbear, Petal, Miss.; six sisters, Lucile Middleton, Lillian Willoughby, Laura Smith, Marie McCorquodale, all of Jackson, Lottie Carlson, Buchannon Dam, Texas, Gaynor Sanders, Hazel Green, Ala.; three grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lamar Hartman, her mother, Sara McDonald Dolbear, three sisters, Vivian Mathews, Bertha May and Anita Spillers, all of Jackson.

The service was Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. Joe McKenney officiating. Burial was in Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jackson.

Martin

L.V. Martin, 80, of Grove Hill died Oct. 22, 2006 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 22, 1926. He was a member of the Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church of Grove Hill. He served as a deacon. He was a member of the Utopia Masonic Lodge No. 251 Community Club House of Grove Hill. He was a retired maintenance worker for Stauffer in Bucks.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie Taite Martin, Grove Hill; three sons, Andrain (Sallie) Martin, Jeffery (Beverly) Martin, Durlin Martin, all of Grove Hill; two daughters, Lanette Martin, Debra Martin, both of Birmingham; one brother, Walter Martin, New Orleans, La.; one uncle, Fred Martin, Grove Hill; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon at the Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church in Grove Hill. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Grove Hill. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
