Rev. Robert Charles Calhoun, 70, died Oct. 31, 2006 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 5, 1936 in Purdue Hill to the late Earnest Calhoun Sr. and Ruth Etta Sanders Calhoun. He was a member of Orange Hill Baptist Church where he served faithfully.
Survivors include one son, Christopher Hollins, Grove Hill; one brother, Earnest Calhoun Jr., Mobile.
Viewing will be Friday, Saturday Nov. 3 from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Andrews Funreal Home. Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11 a.m. at the Orange Hill Baptist Church in Grove Hill with Rev. James Barron to officiate. Burial will be in the Orange Hill Cemetery. Andrews Funeral Home of Jackson will direct.
Ora Dean Shumate Collins, 82, of Dixons Mills died Oct. 28, 2006 at her residence. She was born July 30, 1924 in Sweet Water.
Survivors include one step-son, Oliver Bowen (Mary) Collins III, Mississippi; one sister, Glendora Shumate (Bill) Jones, Dixons Mills; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; numerous nephews and nieces.
The service was Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Lister Hill officiating. Burial was in the Sweet Water Cemetery. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Inez Chapman Newton, 94, of Westover, Ala. died Oct. 23, 2006 at her residence.
She was born Oct. 30, 1911 in Sweet Water. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Donald Newton, Clio; one daughter, Joyce Martin, Pine Apple; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Newton Sr.; two sons, Steve Newton Jr. and Jerry Newton.
The service was Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Nanafalia Baptist Church. Burial was in the Nanafalia Baptist Church Cemetery. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Cynthia H. Tyler, 58, of Pine Hill died Oct. 25, 2006 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 14, 1947 in Pine Hill. She was a former salesperson with Alabama Wholesale Company.
Survivors include her husband, Leslie Anthony Tyler, Pine Hill; two brothers, LaDon Harvell, Fulton, Rod Harvell, Vineland; half-brother, Woodie Beck, Pennington.
She was preceded in death by her infant son in 1975.

Charles Raymond Atchison, 68, of Salitpa died Oct. 28, 2006 in a local nursing facility.
He was born Nov. 15, 1937. He was a member of River Hill Baptist Church in Salitpa. He was self-employed as a church pew salesman.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas "Chip" Atchison, Gainestown, Charles R. Atchison Jr., San Francisco, Calif.; two daughters, Krystie Dunn, Ashley Dismukes, Mobile; seven brothers, Roy Atchison, Bobby Atchison, Ronnie Atchison, Fred Atchison, Wayne Atchison, all of Salitpa, David Atchison, James Atchison, both of Jackson; two sisters, Florence Marie Faircloth, Nancy Townsend, both of Salitpa; five grandchildren.

Mary Eleanor "Tootsie" Robinson, 74, of Whatley died Oct. 27, 2006 in Jackson.
She was born Feb. 12, 1932 in Wilcox County. She was a member of Amity Baptist Church in Whatley. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Florence "Mug" Robinson, Whatley; one son, Derek Robinson, Whatley; two brothers, James L. Hicks, Pensacola, Fla., Wallace C. Hicks, Camden; one sister, Betty Lindsey, Whatley.

Levon Edward Wade, 54, of Jackson died Oct. 26, 2006 in a Mobile hospital.
He was born March 20, 1952. He was a member of River Hill Baptist Church of Salitpa. He was a painter and sandblaster for Alabama Sandblasting and Coating Company.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa A. Wade, Jackson; one son, James Wade, Jackson; two daughters, Roxanne Holton, Amanda Wade, Jackson; two brothers, Spencer Wade, Salitpa, Billy Wade, Jackson; three grandchildren.
The service was Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Maloy officiating. Burial was in the Cantuche Cemetery in Salitpa.

Robert Hamilton McConnell Jr., 58, of Whatley died Oct. 29, 2006 at his residence.
He was born April 29, 1948. He was a member of Asbury Baptist Church. He was a self-employed painter.
Survivors include his father, Robert H. McConnell Sr., Whatley; one son, Neal McConnell, Thomasville; one daughter, Beth McConnell, Thomasville; three sisters, Alice Parten, Thomasville, Sheila Anderson, Perry's Chapel, Becky Cotton, Walker Springs; one brother, Billy McConnell, Whatley; four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorene Presnall, one daughter, Sue McConnell and one son, Bob McConnell.

Theodore Roosevelt Grayson Jr., 56, of Dixons Mills died Oct. 20, 2006 in Tuscaloosa.
He was born Jan. 25, 1950 in Dixons Mills. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He had worked as a truck driver, carpenter, and brick mason.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Allen, Thomasville; one son, Sean (Bridget); two daughters, Shana (Bryant); Sharron of Rochester, N.Y.; his mother, Goldia Grayson, Dixons Mills; one sister, Dr. Chinella (Wiley) Henderson, Huntsville; three brothers, Edwin (Betty) Grayson, Griffin, Ga., Tommie Grayson, Atlanta, Ga., Prentiss (Judy) Grayson, North Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren; and other loving and devoted family members.
Honorary pallbearers were Gerald Worthy, Clarence Agee, Willie James May, Edwin Grayson, Tommie Grayson and Prentiss Grayson.
