Fire truck bid of $221,323 approved by GH Council

Grove Hill Town Council members accepted the bid from Deep South of Mississippi to build a new tanker/pumper truck for Grove Hill Fire and Rescue.

Deep South's bid was for $221,323. The other two bidders were $30,000 and $70,000 higher.

The new truck should be completed 200 days after Deep South is notified. The truck will be outfitted with a 3,000 gallon tank and 1,500 gallon pumper.

Other business

Council members approved a resolution to increase town employee retirees' monthly benefits.

A mobile home permit was approved for Dunn's Exxon to place a mobile home north of the car wash, to be used as an office.
