Lady Gators to tune-up with intra-squad tournament

Whitney Larrimore bumps the ball in a CPS practice as teammate Katelyn Dunagan covers her.
In an effort to create even more excitement around the 2-time defending state champhionship program, the Clarke Prep School Lady Gators will have the Lady Gator Classic this Friday night.

"Each player puts together a team with three outside players," Coach Jami Barlow said. "Then we will have a tournament. It should be a lot of fun."

The tourney starts at 6 p.m. and will last until there is a champion.

There will also be a $1 admisssion charge.

The Lady Gators officially open the season at the Elite 8 tournament at Faith Academy in Mobile. The final eight teams from last year's state tourney come together and play to start the season.
