Why Did You Go Away

I used to write in a journal every day.

I haven't had the urge since you went away.

You took away my desire when you said good-bye.

When I think of you, all I do is cry.

You left me and the children early one morn,

Not knowing what really happened,

We were facing a storm.

The storm clouds quickly gathered

The lightning flashed in the sky

Why did this tragedy happen?

Please tell me why.

I do not understand it,

Please let us know why you had to leave us,

Why you had to go.

The heart is broken, it is in so much pain,

Time will heal

I know we will see you again after the rain.
