Bridge tourney benefits local hospital

Members of the Grove Hill Memorial Hospital hosted their annual bridge luncheon Wednesday, Aug. 16 at The Magnolia. The fundraiser is a 20-year tradition and brought in participants from as far away as Texas. A majority of those playing came from Jackson and others were from Brewton, Butler, Thomasville, Tuscaloosa, Grove Hill and Pensacola, Fla. Pictured are auxiliary members, left to right, Carolyn Daffin, Catherine Neal, Marion Bumpers, Jean Bumpers, French Downey, Vivian Gilmore, Doris Hill, Ella Agnes Bradford, Margie Grant, Mary Sue Moore, Hazel Etheridge and kneeling Miriam Heaton. Not pictured was Doris Osborne.
