Jackson man arrested on child molestation charges
Walter Anthony Patrick, 38 is charged with two counts of rape, first degree and two counts of sexual abuse. Warrants indicated Patrick had deviate sexual contact with the child in 1997 and 2003, when the victim was five-years-old and 11-years-old, and had sexual intercourse with the child in 2002 and 2003. According to a press release from the Jackson Police Department, the agency conducting the investigation and making the arrest, the abuse continued up until a month ago. At this time lawmen believe there was only one victim. Patrick was arrested Tuesday night and remains in Clarke County Jail, pending making an $80,000 bond. Deputy Chief Mark Harrell is the investigating officer. In 2002 Patrick's father, Walter Lee Patrick and stepmother, Nancy Patrick were also arrested on sexual abuse charges and indicted by the Grand Jury. Walter Lee Patrick was found guilty of rape in Washington County Circuit was sentenced to 30 years in the state penitentiary. The Clarke County charges against both Walter Lee and Nancy Patrick were nol prossed in March at the victims' requests.
