Domestic violence workshop held

Law officers. attorneys. judges and staff from district attorneys' and circuit clerks' offices from all over south Alabama attended the Clarke County Domestic Violence Criminal Justice Seminar, held at the Clarke County Courthouse Aug. 25. Pictured is guest speaker Lieutenant Steve M. Searcy, Bureau Commander of the Domestic Violence Unit of Montgomery Police Department. Other speakers included Jennifer Woods Arsenian, J.D., Public Policy Director for the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Circuit Judge Daniel Reeves of the 18th Judicial Circuit and chairman of the Committee on Domestic Violence for the Judicial Study Commission. The seminar was spearheaded by Fleaka Walker, Magistrate with the Clarke County Circuit Clerk's Office, Peggy Palmer, Harriet's House Victim Advocate for Clarke County and Susanna Neisbett, Executive Director of Harriet's House.
