Shoes for Orphan Souls now underway

Moody Radio stations, WMFT-Tuscaloosa /Birmingham, WMBV-Dixons Mills and WMBU-Forest, Miss. are now conducting their Shoes for Orphan Souls Campaign.

Working in conjunction with Buckner Orphan Care International based in Dallas, Texas, the radio stations are asking listeners to contribute new shoes, socks and shoe laces that will be distributed to orphanages mainly in Europe, Central and South America and Asia.

Rob Moore, Manager of the three-station group said, "We ran this campaign three years ago for the first time and had over 1,700 pairs of shoes contributed. This is our second time to do this, so we would love to see 2,500 or even 3,000 pairs of shoes this time around."

Many of the shoes will be placed on the feet of orphans by Moody Radio personnel and listeners that have signed up to go on shoe distribution trips to places such as: Russia, Romania, Ethiopia, China and Guatemala.

The shoe program continues to grow each year with the support of more than 5,000 groups and organizations.

Over one million pairs of shoes have been distributed since 1999.

The Moody Radio Campaign is underway now through Aug. 25.

For a list of locations where the shoes can be dropped off, go online to www.wmft.fm, www.wmbv.org, or www.wmbu.org or call 1-888-624-7234.
