Retiring commissioner honored by peers

Clarke County Commissioner Rubye Andrews was recently honored by the Association of County Commissions of Alabama for her 16 years of service in county government and to the state of Alabama.

Andrews was honored with the Tenure in Office Award from the Association on Thursday, Aug. 24, during the Association's 78th Annual Convention.

"Commissioner Andrews deserves the thanks of all Alabamians for her dedication to public service and her personal sacrifice," said ACCA President Rhondel Rhone. "Considering the challenges county commissioners face every day, Commissioner Andrews proudly serves her constituency well, and she deserves a pat on the back from everyone in her county!"

The Tenure in Office Award is presented annually by the Association to honor commissioners who have served at least 16 years in office. The award is given to commemorate the 16th, 20th, 24th, etc. year in office.

The Association of County Commissions of Alabama is a statewide organization representing county government in Alabama.
