Citizen of Year nominations solicited

The Grove Hill Civitan Club is accepting nominations for Grove Hill's Citizen of the Year. Nominations should include a resume and must be accompanied by a letter explaining in detail the nominee's activities and how these activities make a difference in the community. The person or group submitting the nomination must identify themselves in the letter.

The nominee must have been active in civic or community affairs related but not limited to any of the following: education, religion, business, helping agencies, recreation or athletics, the arts, and children and youth programs. Judging shall be based on a period of five or more years, with emphasis given to activities during the immediate preceding three years. The information provided in the nomination letter, as well as the quality of the letter will be the basis for judging.

Nominations should be mailed to: Citizen of the Year, P.O. Box 1254, Grove Hill, AL 36451. No hand-delivered nominations will be accepted. Deadline for receiving nominations is September 19, 2006.

Nominations become the property of the Grove Hill Civitan Club and shall be carried from year to year to be judged alongside nominations as long as the committee considers the nominee to be a viable candidate.
