Wood-Baker tell plans for Oct. 21 wedding in T'ville

Mr. Baker, Miss Wood
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wood of Thomasville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Laken Loree Wood to James Lamar Baker, II, son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Alexander, Sr. of Butler.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ms. Geneva Ott and the late Mayburn Ott and Ms. Jo Wood and the late Billy Wood of Thomasville.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Lamar Baker of Diamond Head, Miss. and the late Ms. Mary K. Baker and Ms. Minnie Hendrix of Mobile.

Miss Wood is a 2003 graduate of Thomasville High School and is currently a senior at Auburn University where she is majoring in Civil Engineering. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.

Mr. Baker is a 1996 graduate of Patrician Academy and a graduate of Alabama Southern. He is currently employed with Canal Wood LLC of Alexander City.

The ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Pineview Baptist Church in Thomasville.

All family and friends are invited through the medium of the press.
