Leroy seniors Jarod Brewer and Brian Lankford got their 18th birthday wish as Leroy defeated the Keith Bears 60-20.

The Bears started off slow as Clint Moseleys first five pass attempts went in and out of the hands of the intended receivers.

Leroy got their act together when the Keith Bears attempted an end around and the ball was fumbled in the exchange. Jake Walker recovered the fumble for Leroy. One play later, Charles Williams took the ball 23 yards for a touchdown. Paul Gartman's extra point was good and Leroy led 7-0.

After a four and out for Keith, Leroy drove 55 yards and capped the drive with a 35 yard touchdown pass from Moseley to Johnny Williams. Extra point was no good as Leroy was up 13-0 with 5:26 to go in the 1st quarter.

After yet another four and out for the Bears from Orrville, Grant Brown took the punt at Leroy's 45 yard line and returned it 55 yards for the touchdown.

On Leroy's next possession, Charles capped a four-play drive with a 20 yard touchdown scamper to make it 27-0 after Gartman added the extra point.

On the ensuing kickoff, Derrick James fumbled the ball for Keith, allowing Leroy's Michael Bracy to recovoer at the Keith 20 yard line. On the first play from srimmage, Leroy quarterback Aerick Davis snuck the ball for 20 yards. On the next play, he would not be so lucky as the ball would pop loose and be recovered by Terry Jackson for the Keith Bears.

On 2nd and 8 for Keith, Quarterback Antonio McCall would attempt a pass to his reciever when he deflected off the back of a Leroy helmet, as the ball came down, McCall caught his own pass and took it for a 16-pickup. That luck would turn to nothing as on the next play, Seth Headley would recover a fumble for the Bears.

Two plays later, Johnny would catch a 41-yard touchdown pass as the Bears would take a 34-0 lead on Keith.

On Keith's next play from scrimmage, McCall would complete a 72-yard touchdown pass to William Pasley. Two-point conversion was no good as Leroy led 34-6.

After an interception thrown by Davis, Keith was in business again as Derrick James would come around for the Keith Bears with a 14-yard touchdown run to make it 34-12 going into halftime.

Leroy got off to a good start after the break with Bracy coming out strong making it 40-12 on a touchdown run.

After yet another kickoff recovery, Davis scored on a QB keeper around right side. Patrick Wilson added the point after and it was 47-12 in favor of the Leroy Bears.

On Keith's next possession, Derrick James had the ball stripped away from him by Leroy's Craig Weaver. Weaver scored on a 53-yard touchdown run. Gartman's point after was good and Leroy led 54-12.

Both teams added one more score each, Keith's coming at the hands of Shedrick Harris and Leroy's at the hands of Bracy. Keith added a two-point conversion and Leroy's extra point by Wilson was no good. Leroy had defeated the Keith Bears 60-20.

"We were very pleased with our effort against Keith," said Head Coach Danny Powell. "We had some dropped balls early on, but we talked Clint through it. Keith is a very athletic team, with a lot of good athletes and we played them well overall."
