The Patrician Academy Saints smacked the Jackson Academy Eagles with a 42-13 loss Friday as the Eagles move to 0-3 on the season.

Wesley Harris was 4-11 passing against the Saints with 62 yards, Logan Barnes was 0-1 passing on the night.

Dennis Cranmore had 27 rushing attempts for 109 yards for the Eagles while Chance Lyon had 12 attempts for 39 yards. Crayton Motes had five attempts for 31 yards.

On the receiving end of things, Josh Howard had two receptions for 28 yards while Logan Barnes had one reception for 20 yards.

Dennis Cranmore and Crayton Motes both added touchdowns for the Eagles as Evin Bowling was 1-for-2 in extra point attempts on the evening. One of her PATs was blocked by a Saint defender.

On the defensive side of the ball, Brandon Gilpin, Chad Carter, Dennis Cranmore, Wesley Harris and Max Harrell all combined 19 tackles on the night with Gilpin and Harrell leading the squad of tacklers with five each.

Dennis Cranmore had five punts on the night for 150 yards. He averaged 30 yards a punt.

"I was very proud of our effort," said JA Coach Lynn Wright. "Patrician beat us soundly, but we have things getting better for us each week that goes by. I think that we gained some confidence by playing better this week.

"I was extremely proud of the rushing efforts by Dennis Cranmore as he rushed for 109 yards on the night."

JA will host Escambia Academy this Friday night. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
