Stave Creek sets Fifth Quarter

Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson will host a "Fifth Quarter" this Friday, Sept. 22 directly after the football game. This event will be for youth seventh grade through twelfth grade. There will be food, music, games and more. Wesley Hicks is the youth minister.

Clarke Street Missionary

anniversary/fundraiser day

Clarke Street Missionary Baptist Church of Thomasville will have its church anniversary and fundraiser day Sunday, Oct. 22 beginning with morning worship at 11:30 a.m. It is asked that former members, family and friends make a contribution to help make progress on the church. So far the roof has been replaced. Presently, members are in the process of rerouting water pipes, replacing the restroom floors and putting siding on the church. Mt. Gilead special day Sunday

Mt. Gilead of Carlton will host its annual Family and Friends Day Sunday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. Rev. Lonnie Moore of Union Baptist Church will be the guest speaker. Rev. L.E. Bush is the pastor.

St. Luke homecoming set

St. Luke Baptist Church of Walker Springs will have homecoming Sunday, Sept. 24 at 12 noon. Revival services will be Monday, Sept. 24 through Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. nightly Rev. Bobby White will be speaker for all services.

Wesley Chapel UMC's

Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of the Winn community near Jackson will have its homecoming Sunday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. Rev. Tommy Gaillard will be the speaker. A covered dish lunch will be held in the fellowship hall following the service. Please bring a covered dish. Revival services will be Monday, Sept. 25 through Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. nightly. Rev. Gaillard will also be the speaker. Everyone is invited especially past members and friends. Rev. Maurice Dyess is the pastor.

Orange Hill Baptist Church will have its annual homecoming Sunday, Sept. 24. Rev. James Barren, pastor, will bring the morning message. Rev. Albert Pritchett of the Shiloh Baptist Church of Morvin will bring the evening sermon. Revival services Monday, Sept. 25 through Thursday, Sept. 28 will begin at 7 p.m. nightly. The evangelist for the week will be Roy Clinton Johnson of Mobile. A.J. Pritchett is the clerk. Rev. James Barren is the pastor.

Bethlehem Baptist Church will have its annual homecoming and revival services Sunday, Sept. 24 through Wednesday, Sept. 27. The Sunday service will be at noon with Minister Vincent Robinson, youth minister of the Word of Life Church of Chickasaw bringing the message. Revival services will begin at 7 p.m. nightly Monday through Wednesday. Rev. Marcus Kelley, co-pastor of the Word of Truth Fellowship Church of Jackson will be the evangelist of the week. Rev. Donald Sterling Sr. is the pastor.

Mackey Branch No. 2 sets benefit program Sept. 30

Mackey Branch No. 2 Baptist Church of Whatley will have a benefit program for Sis. Beatrice Coates, Saturday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. Mrs. Coates is currently at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, awaiting a lung transplant and is very much in need of financial assistance and your prayers. If you cannot come a donation will be greatly appreciated. The Voices N' Harmony will be hosting this program. Sis. Ethel Evans is the secretary and Rev. Dave Adams is the pastor.

Saint Peter Baptist Church located in the Allen community in Grove Hill will have its annual homecoming Sunday, Oct. 1 at 11:30 a.m. Revival services will be Monday, Oct. 2 through Friday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Rev. Leonard Frazier of the Stonewall Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon will be the evangelist for the week. Rev. Matthew Davis is the pastor.

Greater New Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 2904 New Hope Road in Millry will have its pastor, Rev. Ivory James' Eighth Year Anniversary Sunday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m. Rev. Thaddeus Douglas, Associate Minister of the Mt. Olive #2 Baptist Church of Jackson will be the guest speaker. The 3 p.m. guest speaker will be Rev. T.L. Douglas, pastor of the Grove Hill Baptist Church of Uriah and Mackey Branch #2 Baptist Church of Gosport. Sis. Gladys Daniels is the secretary and Rev. Ivory James is the pastor and honoree.

Tompkins Baptist Church

Tompkins Baptist Church will have homecoming and dedication of its new building Sunday, Oct. 1. Rev. Don Newton will bring the dedication message at the 11 a.m. service followed by a covered dish luncheon in the new fellowship building. Sunday School will be at 9:45 a.m. with singing in the afternoon. There will be no evening service. A special invitation is extended to those who helped with the construction of the new facilities.

Spencer Chapel AME sets pastor's appreciation

Spencer Chapel A.M.E. of Fulton will have its appreciation program for its pastor, Rev. W.T. Lesueur Sunday, Oct. 8 at 11:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Andrew Dawkins of Montgomery.

Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church located at 272 Norris Road in Coffeeville will have its Annual Usher's Day Program Sunday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Mack Wright of Cedar Fork Baptist Church of Suggsville. Deacon Eugene Coats is the church clerk. Rev. Albert Ridgeway is the pastor.

Good Hope getting basics

Good Hope Baptist Church is getting back to the basics, with sermons on "Basic Bible Doctrine," with Rev. Stuart Pope. Sunday school will be at 10 a.m., worship at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning.
