Community Calendar 19th Annual Mississippi Pecan Festival set The 19th Annual Mississippi Pecan Festival will be Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1 in Richton, Miss. This year the festival will have a great line-up of demonstrating crafters and artisans that will include basket weaving, broom making, spinning and weaving, pottery, soap making, candle making, furniture making, bowl turning and charcoal caricatures. Hicks headstone dedication service set There will be a grave headstone dedication and memorial service for James Bishop Hicks on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. at the old Spinks Chapel Cemetery on the Asbury Road, (two miles out of Grove Hill). Hicks served in the Confederate Army with the 38th Alabama, Company "A." The family and friends extend an open invitation to all interested.
Bozeman family reunion The children of the late Eldridge and Ruby Bozeman will have a family reunion Sunday, Oct. 1 at the home of Grady and Florence Mazingo located at 159 Grady Mazingo Road off the Ararat Road.
St. Union Missionary homecoming and revival St. Union Missionary Baptist Church located at 110 Davis Avenue in Jackson will have its annual homecoming and revival Sunday, Oct. 1 at 3 p.m. Rev. Walter Bracy, pastor of the Greater First Baptist Church of Prichard will be the guest speaker. Rev. Nathaniel Dortch, pastor of James Chapel Baptist Church of Mobile will be the evangelist for the week. Services will begin at 7 p.m. nightly. Sis. Lillian B. Holly, Sis. Lelia Sanders and Bro. James Todd are the homecoming committee.

CVFD's third annual fireman's ball set Coffeeville's Third Annual Fireman's Ball will be held Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Coffeeville High School Auditorium. Tickets are on sale now $45/couple, or $25/single. Tickets include all you can eat fried seafood, music/entertainment, presentation of The Tombigbee Maids and lots of fun. Fulton School reunion set Fulton School Reunion will be Saturday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. Please bring a covered dish lunch. This reunion is for all who attended the old and new school or just lived in Fulton. Come prepared to stay and hear some great gospel singing in downtown Fulton, beginning at 4 p.m., sponsored by the Fulton Volunteer Fire Department. Bring lawn chairs for the singing.

ATRC annual meeting in Selma set Oct. 11 The Alabama-Tombigbee Regional Commission will hold its 36th Annual meeting Wednesday, Oct. 11 at the Selma Convention Center.
