Orange Hill Baptist Church will end its revival Thursday, (tonight), Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. The evangelist for the week will be Roy Clinton Johnson of Mobile. A.J. Pritchett is the clerk. Rev. James Barren is the pastor.
Mackey Branch No. 2 sets benefit
Mackey Branch No. 2 Baptist Church of Whatley will have a benefit program for Sis. Beatrice Coates, Saturday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. Mrs. Coates is currently at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, awaiting a lung transplant and is very much in need of financial assistance and your prayers. If you cannot come, a donation will be greatly appreciated. The Voices N' Harmony will be hosting this program. Sis. Ethel Evans is the secretary and Rev. Dave Adams is the pastor.
Liberty Methodist's homecoming Liberty Methodist Church located between Sunny South and Lower Peach Tree will celebrate its annual homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 10:45 a.m. Dinner on the grounds will follow the morning activities.
Saint Peter's homecoming Oct. 1
Saint Peter Baptist Church located in the Allen community in Grove Hill will have its annual homecoming Sunday, Oct. 1 at 11:30 a.m. Revival services will be Monday, Oct. 2 through Friday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Rev. Leonard Frazier of the Stonewall Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon will be the evangelist for the week. Rev. Matthew Davis is the pastor.
Mt. Gilead revival starts Oct. 1 Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Walker Springs will have its revival Sunday, Oct. 1 through Wednesday, Oct. 4. Bro. Ray McKenzie of Shiloh Baptist Church of Saraland will be the speaker. Revival services will begin at 7 p.m. nightly. Sunday school begins at 8:45 a.m. and worship at 10 a.m. Lunch will follow the morning service and a singing afterward. Rev. William Allison is the pastor.
Greater New Hope honors pastor Greater New Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 2904 New Hope Road in Millry will have its pastor, Rev. Ivory James' Eighth Year Anniversary Sunday, Oct. 1 at 11 a.m. Rev. Thaddeus Douglas, Associate Minister of the Mt. Olive #2 Baptist Church of Jackson will be the guest speaker. The 3 p.m. guest speaker will be Rev. T.L. Douglas, pastor of the Grove Hill Baptist Church of Uriah and Mackey Branch #2 Baptist Church of Gosport. Sis. Gladys Daniels is the secretary and Rev. Ivory James is the pastor and honoree.
Tompkins Baptist Church's homecoming, building dedication Tompkins Baptist Church will have homecoming and dedication of its new building Sunday, Oct. 1. Rev. Don Newton will bring the dedication message at the 11 a.m. service followed by a covered dish luncheon in the new fellowship building. Sunday School will be at 9:45 a.m. with singing in the afternoon. There will be no evening service. A special invitation is extended to those who helped with the construction of the new facilities.
St. Peter's Episcopal sets activities St. Peter's Episcopal Church located at 200 Hospital Drive in Jackson will have a service and sermon each Sunday at 11 a.m. (Children's Church during the 11 a.m. service. and each Sunday, adult education classes with the subject entitled, "A People Called Episcopalians." Wednesday, Brown-Bag Theology and lunch schedule will be worship at noon from the noonday office, five to 10 minutes, lunch and at 12:45 end the discussion. Tea and coffee will be provided. Individuals provide their own lunch. Wednesday, Oct. 4, feast of St. Francis of Assisi topic: "Being Instruments of God's Peace." A lobster supper fundraiser, "The Main Event" on Saturday, Sept. 30 will be held at 6 p.m. to benefit the Wilmer Hall Children's Home in Mobile. Tickets are $20 each. Worth, Texas will bring Visitation, Baptism, Confirmation and the sermon on Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, All Saint's Day, topic: "Saintly Behavior in a Crazy World, Wednesday, Dec. 6, feast of St. Nicholas of Myra, topic: "Adult Receiving and Childlike Giving: Preparing for the Coming of the King." The public is invited to attend and participate.

Spencer Chapel A.M.E. of Fulton will have its appreciation program for its pastor, Rev. W.T. Lesueur Sunday, Oct. 8 at 11:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Andrew Dawkins of Montgomery.

Walker Springs Cemetery meeting Walker Springs Cemetery Association will meet Sunday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. at Mount Gilead Baptist Church. Anyone having an interest in either Mount Gilead or Hopewell Cemetery is invited to attend this business session as they plan for the upkeep and improvement of both cemeteries.

Clarke Street Missionary anniversary/fundraiser day Clarke Street Missionary Baptist Church of Thomasville will have its church anniversary and fundraiser day Sunday, Oct. 22 beginning with morning worship at 11:30 a.m. It is asked that former members, family and friends make a contribution to help make progress on the church. So far the roof has been replaced. Presently, members are in the process of rerouting water pipes, replacing the restroom floors and putting siding on the church.
