New teachers join faculty

Adam Andrews, Athena Hubbert, Cedricia Wilson and Moneek Bryant are new WHMS teachers.
Adam Andrews teaches seventh grade history. He is married to Dena Andrews who is a kindergarten teacher at Grove Hill Elementary School. Mr. Andrews graduated from the University of Alabama in 2005 with a secondary education degree in social science. He will also coach the Wilson Hall Middle School football team this year. In addition to teaching, he serves as the minister for the Thomasville Church of Christ.

Cedricia Wilson, who lives in Jackson, is married to James Wilson and has three grown children. She holds a Master's Degree in Education and has certification in Library Media, Business Education, and English. She has 16 years of teaching experience and has taught in Conecuh County, Clarke County, and Monroe County. Mrs. Wilson was thrilled to learn that she would be teaching at Wilson Hall Middle School.

Moneek Bryant grew up in Walker Springs and is a 1999 graduate of Jackson High School. She attended James H. Faulkner State Community College and graduated in 2001 in Pre-Law. She received a bachelor's degree in English major with a history minor in 2003 from the University of West Alabama. In 2005 she received a Master's of Education in English from the University of West Alabama. She plans to continue her education at Birmingham School of Law. She is the ninth of 10 children. She is the daughter of the late Quincy Bryant and Emma Bryant. She is the mother of three year old Emily. Ms. Bryant teaches Sunday school and serves as a youth director at her church. She is a special education teacher at WHMS.

Athena Hubbert will be teaching girls' physical education at WHMS. She is also the volleyball coach at Clarke County High School. Mrs. Hubbert earned a degree in Elementary/Early Childhood education from the University of West Alabama. She also attended the University of Mississippi for Women where she played volleyball. She comes from Millry where she was an assistant coach for three years. Coach Hubbert is excited about involving the girls at WHMS more in athletics so they will be better prepared once they enter CCHS. Coach Hubbert said, "I have been so impressed with the administration and faculty here at WHMS and I am honored to be here."
