Ex-mortician charged with embezzlement

A former mortician for Reese Funeral Home was arrested by Thomasville Police Department Friday for embezzling over $3,000 over a two year period.

Ricky Donnell Henderson, 41, was charged with theft by deception, first degree.

Apparently Henderson quit his job just before the books at Reese were audited. During the audit it was discovered Henderson had allegedly been writing customers receipts from a separate receipt book and had supposedly taken the book with him when he left, so the missing money would not be detected.

It is estimated that he probably took nearly $7,000, but could only be charged with part of the thefts.

He was taken to Clarke County Jail and his bond was set at $10,000.

Other arrests reported include:

Paul Auther Russell, unlawful possession of controlled substance, warrant, arrested Sept. 18;

Darrell Vaughn Tinsley, possession of marijuana, first degree, arrested Sept. 24;

Paul Vargo III, failure to appear on no drivers license, arrested Sept. 19;

Robert Ferrell Allen, public intoxication, arrested Sept, 21;

Nathan Guy Cornell, violation prohibition law, violation of noise ordinance, arrested Sept. 23;
