VFW holds flag retirement program at Jackson post

Local Boy Scouts were in charge of flag program.
VFW Post 5355 and Ladies Auxiliary held a flag retirement program Saturday, Sept. 23 at the VFW Post 5355 in Jackson.

The ceremony was conducted by Boy Scout Troop 81 and Pack 50 from Grove Hill. Approximately 50 flags were retired at this ceremony.

Troop leaders present were Perry Lankford, Tammy Norris, John Gaddis and David Rhodes. The VFW Ladies Auxiliary 5355 served refreshments of hotdogs, potato chips, drinks and homemade ice cream to the scouts and the leaders.

This is one of the many programs the VFW Post 5355 and Ladies Auxiliary have each year.
