Clarke County businessman faces charges of filing false tax returns

A Clarke County businessman faces arraignment on Monday, Oct. 30 before Clarke County Circuit Judge Thomas Baxter on charges of filing false Alabama income tax returns following a recent indictment by a Clarke County Grand Jury.

Henry C. Frowner, 53, of 1347 Fools Acre Road, Jackson was arrested Sept. 16, on charges of filing false Alabama income tax returns for tax years 2001, 2002, and 2003. The tax charges filed against Frowner resulted from his failure to report income earned from a construction company owned and operated by Frowner during 2001-2003.

Frowner could receive up to three years in jail and/or a fine of $100,000 for each count of filing a perjured Alabama tax return.
