The Leroy Bears downgraded the Hurricanes from Flomaton last Friday night in a 42-13 effort. Leroy now is set up for a Week 7 matchup with the Indians from Southern Choctaw.

Southern Choctaw came away with a couple of huge wins last season, 20-0 in the season and 14-10 in the semi-finals of the playoffs.

Leroy came out strong against the Hurricanes, scoring within the first three minutes of the ball game on a 30-yard touchdown pass from Clint Moseley to Patrick Rivers. Paul Gartman hit his first of six extra points to give Leroy the 7-0 lead.

On the ensuing kickoff, Leroy was able to recover the ball, as Michael Bracy fell atop of it. Three plays later, Detrick Powell scampered in for a touchdown. Gartman added the PAT and the Bears led 14-0.

After a Flomaton three and out, Leroy had several huge plays from Johnny Williams, Detrick Powell and Ronald Bracy. D.J. Mcleary closed the drive off with an 11-yard touchdown run. Gartman's PAT was good and Leroy led 21-0 with 31 seconds left in the first. The Bears would scramble down to the goal line on their next drive and send Powell into the endzone with 8:44 remaining until halftime. Gartman's extra point was up and through the uprights to make it 28-0 Leroy.

Leroy would grab one more score before halftime on a 65-yard touchdown run from Aerick Davis. Gartman once again hit his PAT and Leroy was up 35-0 with 6:46 left until the half.

Leroy would add on one more score in the game as Johnny Williams caught a 25-yard touchdown reception from Moseley with 11:28 left in the third quarter of play. Gartman nailed his final extra point and Leroy led at that point, 42-0.

Flomaton would get on the board with 15 seconds left in the third on a three yard touchdown run by Nick Lewis. PAT was good and they cut Leroy's lead to 42-7.

The Hurricanes would add one more score as Tony Ellis hit a 50-yard touchdown run. PAT was no good as the score and the final was set to 42-13.

Leroy ended the night with 427 yards of total offense while the Hurricanes managed to grab 174. 349 of Leroy's yards came on the ground while the other 78 came in the air.

Powell carried the ball nine times for a total of 102 yards while Bracy carried it four times for 68 yards. Moseley was 4-for-6 in the air for 78 yards.
