Little Rock Baptist Church of Gosport will continue its revival Thursday, (tonight), Oct. 19 and end Friday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Rev. Fernell Pendleton, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Whatley will be the speaker for the week. Corene Jackson is the secretary. Rev. Tommie Lee Chapman is the pastor.
Peniel Baptist open house The Sunday School Department of Peniel Baptist Church located at 1730 McVay Road in Jackson will host an open house Sunday, Oct. 22 from 2 until 4 p.m. There will be fellowship and refreshments.
Orange Hill anniversary Orange Hill Baptist Church will have its anniversary Sunday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. The guests will be Rev. David Fuller with his church of Walnut Grove of Morvin. A.J. Pritchett is the clerk. Rev. James H. Barren is the pastor.
James Chapel homecoming, revival James Chapel Baptist Church of Barlow Bend will have its annual homecoming Sunday, Oct. 22 at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Osbry Millender will deliver the message. Revival services will begin Monday, Oct. 23 through Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. nightly. There will be a different evangelist each night: Monday, Oct. 23, Rev. Wilson Gibby, pastor of Pilgrim Rest Church of Waynewright; Tuesday, Oct. 24, Rev. Tommie Moore, pastor of Union Chapel Baptist Church of Barlow Bend; Wednesday, Oct. 25, Rev. Kevin Jackson, pastor of the Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church of Rockville; Thursday, Oct. 26, Rev. Clausell Boykin, pastor of the St. James A.M.E. Church of Choctaw Bluff. Sis. Kathy Bryant is the clerk, Deacon Calvin Jackson is the secretary and Rev. Osbry Millender is the pastor.
Church of Christ gospel meeting The Thomasville Church of Christ, located on the corner of West 3rd and Worl, will have a weekend gospel meeting, Saturday, Oct. 21 and Sunday, Oct. 22. There will be a different speaker at each service. Services on Saturday will be at 7:30 p.m. Services on Sunday will be at 10 a.m. for Bible study, 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for worship services.
McCann homecoming McCann's United Methodist Church will have its annual homecoming Sunday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. Paul McVay will be the speaker. Brian Jemison will provide special music. After the service there will be a covered dish dinner in the fellowship hall. Rev. Joe Mckinney is the pastor.
Mt. Gilead pastor's program Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Carlton will host its annual pastor's anniversary of Rev. L.E. Bush, pastor, Sunday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Rev. Jesse Love of New Hope Baptist Church of Wilmer will be the guest speaker. Rev. L.E. and Mrs. Bush are the honorees.
St. Peter's Episcopal sets activities St. Peter's Episcopal Church located at 200 Hospital Drive in Jackson will have a service and sermon each Sunday at 11 a.m. (Children's Church during the 11 a.m. service. and each Sunday, adult education classes with the subject entitled, "A People Called Episcopalians." Wednesday, Brown-Bag Theology and lunch schedule will be worship at noon from the noonday office, five to 10 minutes, lunch and at 12:45 end the discussion. Tea and coffee will be provided. Individuals provide their own lunch. The Right Rev. Sam B. Hulsey, retired Bishop of Ft. Worth, Texas will bring Visitation, Baptism, Confirmation and the sermon on Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, All Saint's Day, topic: "Saintly Behavior in a Crazy World; Wednesday, Dec. 6, feast of St. Nicholas of Myra, topic: "Adult Receiving and Childlike Giving: Preparing for the Coming of the King." The public is invited to attend and participate.
Trumpet Ministries sets program Trumpet Ministries #2 at 211 E. Ross Street in Jackson will have its second annual Love Day Celebration for Pastor Estella Chin and husband, Minister Willie Chin Sunday, Oct. 22 at 2:30 p.m. Apostle Willie Howard of Mobile will be the anniversary speaker.
Clarke Street Missionary anniversary/fundraiser day Clarke Street Missionary Baptist Church of Thomasville will have its church anniversary and fundraiser day Sunday, Oct. 22 beginning with morning worship at 11:30 a.m. It is asked that former members, family and friends make a contribution to help make progress on the church. So far the roof has been replaced. Presently, members are in the process of rerouting water pipes, replacing the restroom floors and putting siding on the church.
