Clarke-Washington Fair starts Tuesday in Jackson

The annual Clarke-Washington Counties Fair, sponsored by the Jackson Rotary Club, is planned for Oct. 31-Nov. 4, at the Clarke-Washington Fairgrounds located behind Jackson Steakhouse on U.S. Highway 43.

Nightly admission is $5 and the gates open at 5 p.m.

The annual Fair Queen competition will be conducted Tuesday, Oct. 31, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The cheerleading contest will Thursday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 3, "Our Little Fair Princess," pageant will take place.

Children's Day will be Saturday, Nov. 4, from noon-5 p.m. Admission for ages 5-17 will be $1. The International Miss Pageant will be at 2 p.m. that day.

For the last night of the fair the gates will be open from 6-11 p.m. Armbands will be available every night of the fair, which will feature new rides by James Gang Amusement.
