Farm-City Committee poster contest scheduled

The Clarke County Farm-City Committee is sponsoring a poster contest locally and statewide.

The theme is "Farm-City: Partners in Progress."

Entry is open to students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade and must be the original work of the student. There are two categories, K-3 and 4-6.

The deadline to enter for the county is Nov. 1. Prizes are $50 first place, first place student classroom, $50. Second place, $25, second place student classroom, $25.

Posters will be judged at the county level first and the winners will go on to state. State prizes are $200 cash for the student and $200 for the classroom; $100 second place for the student and $100 for the classroom.

State winners will be notified by mail no later than April 1.
