Forestry tour slated Nov. 2 in Gosport and Whatley areas

There will be a landowners' tour held in the Gosport-Whatley area Thursday, Nov. 2.

Clarke County landowners may register at 8:15 a.m. at the Gosport General Store on Highway 84 in Gosport.

As always, there is no charge for the tour and lunch will be provided. CFE's and PLM's have also been applied for so please be sure to have your PLM card with you if you do not know the number.

The Forestry Tour is not only a good learning experience, but a great time to meet with land management specialists and other forest landowners. We hope you will make plans to attend as we are very excited about this year's schedule.

If you have any questions or need more information on the day's activities, please call Robin Thames, Monroe County SWCD, at (251) 743-2587 extension 3.

Benji Elmore is the Clarke/Marengo County Manager at the Alabama Forestry Commission. You may contact him by writing 14833 Old Hwy 5 South, Grove Hill, AL 36451 or phone/fax 251-275-3283. Email him at Clarke.County@forestry.alabama.gov.
