Ghost Walk honors T'ville native author

Kathryn Tucker Windham (back to camera) enthralled adults and youngsters alike with her ghost stories.
This year's Ghost Walk in Thomasville honored Thomas-ville native and author/storyteller Kathryn Tucker Windham by naming the event for her.

Windham, who lives in Selma, delighted youngsters and adults alike with ghost stories but at the end told the children that they should enjoy ghost stories and not be afraid of them. If you are afraid at night, put your shoes under your bed with one shoe pointed out from under the bed and the other pointed under and nothing will bother you, she counseled.

For the first time at Ghost Walk, a band, Dixie River, performed and there were inflatable slides and other activities for the youngsters to do as they awaited hayrides to the various locations where ghost stories were being told.

Dana Dunn was one of the storytellers.
