Marshall-Davis wed in Whatley church

Mrs. Charley Marshall Jr.
Tawona Davis of Grove Hill and Charley Marshall Jr. of Chance were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 at Morning Star Baptist Church in Whatley with Rev. Charley Marshall Sr. officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davis of Grove Hill. She is the granddaughter of Ms. Edwina Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Collins Calhoun and Woodrow Wilson.

The groom is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Charley Marshall Sr. of Chance.

Carla Morris of Birmingham, Dewayne Calhoun of Jackson and musician Wallace Marshall of Grove Hill provided special music for the ceremony.

The church was decorated with an assortment of light to dark pink or wine colored carrousel and ivory roses, hydrangeas, with ivy and leather leaf.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Robert Davis. She wore a strapless silk and taffeta ball gown. Silver sequins, rhinestones and Swarovski crystals embellished the top half of the princess waist bodice. The bottom half of the gown consisted of a taffeta skirt with silver and rhinestone pick-ups and a chapel train. She also wore a fingertip veil trimmed in silver, topped with a one and half inch Swarovski crystal and rhinestone tiara. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory roses, oriental stargazer lilies and leather leaf.

Maid of honor was Tasharra Penny. The bride's other attendants were Jasmine Marshall, sister the groom, Pamela Edwards, cousin of the groom, Kimberly Grayson, Melanie Dubose, cousins of the bride and Tywania Dudley. The bridesmaids wore champagne colored strapless floor length gowns with sequins around the bust line. They carried a hand-tied bouquet of wine colored carrousel roses.

The flower girls were Kiana Bargainer and Amari Pace.

The groom wore a black tuxedo with an ivory vest and a champagne tie.

The best man was Derrick Morrissette. The groom's other attendants were Donavon Marshall, brother of groom, Ramond Blanks, Eric Pace, both cousins of the bride, Al Edwards, Donald Dotson, both cousins of the groom. The groomsmen also wore black tuxedos with champagne vests and ties.

The ringbearer was William Brandyburg.

Rocky Washington Jr. was the Bible bearer.

Aridious Kimbrough was the bell ringer.

Ushers were Byron Davis, brother of the bride, Johnathan Beavers, nephew of the groom.

The bride is an account rep. with World Omni Financial.

The groom is a safety coordinator for Huntsman Advance Material.

A reception was held at the H.W. Pearce Assembly House in Jackson.

Following a honeymoon trip to Honolulu, Hawaii, the couple will reside in Saraland.
