T'ville police charge man with arson

Lederrick Andwan Chapman was arrested and charged with arson, first degree Nov, 8.

According to witnesses, Chapman started a fire on the front porch of a girlfriend's relative's mobile home on MLK Drive in Thomasville.

The mobile home was completely destroyed by the blaze.

Chapman was also charged with failure to appear on bad checks for Clarke County Sheriff's department.

He was taken to Clarke County Jail and his bond was set at $30,500.

Other arrests reported by Thomasville Police Department include:

Heath Barrette Snyder, possession of controlled substance, theft of property, third degree, arrested Nov. 7;

Sophia Everlean Champion, failure to appear on no drivers license, arrested Nov. 6;

Dyeshia Lasha Law, theft of property, third degree, warrant for Jackson Police Department, arrested Nov. 7;

Preston Bernard McDole, failure to appear on running red light, arrested Nov. 8;

Bobby McClure, domestic violence, third degree, warrant, arrested Nov. 9;

Kimberly Nicole Dement, failure to appear on no proof of insurance for Jackson Police Department, arrested Nov. 10;

Darren Kenneth Calhoun, failure to appear on DUI-liquor, arrested Nov. 12;

Robert Anthony Ballinger Jr., assault, third degree, warrant for Clarke County Sheriff's Department, arrested Nov. 12.

Thomasville police officers investigated three traffic accidents, responded to 25 complaints, issued 47 traffic tickets and two warning tickets and performed 130 special details during the week of Nov. 6-12.
