New officials take office

Newly elected District 65 State Rep. Marc Keahey, D-Grove Hill, took the oath of office in Chatom Tuesday (above). Circuit Judge Thomas Baxter performed the ceremony with Circuit Judge Harold Crow assisting while Keahey's wife, Lara, and son, Marc II, look on. Clarke County New District 1 Commissioner Elma Averett was sworn in by Probate Judge Becky Presnall in Grove Hill Tuesday (right).
