Hospital Auxiliary holds meet

The Grove Hill Memorial Hospital Auxiliary met in the conference room at the hospital Wednesday, Oct. 25. Mrs. Janaee' Parden, president, called the meeting to order at 9 a.m.

The program for the morning was "Stroke Symptoms and Stroke Prevention." An informative video prepared the group for the discussion that followed. Doug Sewell, hospital administrator, led the discussion and answered questions about the nation's #3 killer.

Mrs. Dot Robinson, director of the dietary department, thanked the club for the two freezers donated to the cafeteria. In addition, Mrs. Robinson presented a list of hospital employees who had joined the auxiliary since the September meeting.

Among the announcements and committee reports were the following. The calling committee will begin calling members to remind them of meetings. The planned jewelry sale was held in the hospital on Oct. 26 and 27. The bath and beauty sale is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 10. Plans are being made for an auxiliary book sale. Mrs. Catherine Neal, chairman of the golf tournament, announced that one would probably be held in the fall of 2007. Mrs. French Downey, chairman of the tree-lighting ceremony, scheduled on Thursday, Dec. 14, stated that address labels and letters are ready. She invited volunteers to a stuffing session.

Mrs. Parden called attention to a display of brochures, bookmarks and ribbons that promote Breast Cancer Awareness. She encouraged members to take items with them and share them with others.
