Time to reflect on what we have learned By Kathy Spidle GHES Principal It is hard to believe that November is here. We are about to embark on a busy holiday season. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we know that Christmas comes quickly thereafter. We recently had our November PTA meeting. There was a great crowd on hand to watch our third grade classes present a program titled "Curiously Clever Kids." The setting was based on the several fictional stories including, Madeline and Curious George. It involved a variety of choral readings, poetry and singing. Mrs. DeAnna Ivey, Mrs. Kayla Jackson, Ms. Anita Washington, Mrs. Christy Clanton and Mrs. Cindy Bumpers were the third grade team who created and organized this great performance. This was a fun and entertaining way to promote and share our educational focus on reading. I continue to be amazed at the creative talents of the teachers at our school. This is the time of year that we begin to realize how much we have accomplished and how much is yet to be done. This is also the time of year that forces us to stop and think of all the things for which we are thankful. I am grateful for a hard working and caring faculty and staff. It is their dedication and commitment to boys and girls that makes this a great school. I continue to be appreciative for the students that come to school each day eager and ready to learn. I am also thankful for the continuous support we receive from our parents and community. The efforts that we make together can "light" the future and change the world.
