Slayton-Brown say vows in Fitzpatrick

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Russell Slayton
Melanie Ann Brown and Andrew Russell Slayton were united in marriage in an outdoor ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006 at 6 p.m. at Bucksnort Plantation in Fitzpatrick.

Pastor Larry Davidson of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Ramer officiated. Music was provided by Beth Hoener, violinist. Given in marriage by her step-father and father the bride chose her sister, Stephanie Walker of Millbrook as her matron of honor, and Lauren Lane of Fitzpatrick, best friend of the bride, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amber Kelly of Huntsville and Sarah Gilchrist of Montgomery, cousins of the bride, Kim Lewis of Birmingham and Connie Boutwell of Livingston, friends of the bride.

Eddie Slayton, father of the groom, served as the best man. Groomsmen were Carey Slayton of Jackson and Scott Slayton of Parrish, brothers of the groom, Jeremy Welch of Orange Beach, Rob Steen of Auburn and Stan Boutwell of Livingston, friends of the groom.

The flower girls were Bailey and Dacey Slayton of Jackson, nieces of the groom and the ringbearer was Jason Walker of Millbrook, nephew of the bride.

Ushers were Jared and Zac Brown of Montgomery, brothers of the bride, Matt Hutcheson of Montgomery and John Ben Weekley of Millbrook, cousins of the bride and Jeff Garrick of Livingston, friend of the groom.

After the wedding, the reception followed on the grounds of Bucksnort Plantation. A meal of barbeque and all the trimmings was served. Music was provided by the band, The Sons of March.

The rehearsal dinner was held on Sept. 8 at A Personal Touch in Montgomery. The dinner was hosted by Eddie and Linda Slayton, parents of the groom, assisted by Joe and Rachel Lindsey of Grove Hill, uncle and aunt of the groom, and Johnny Reid and Julia Ann Deas of Grove Hill, friends of the groom. The menu consisted of prime rib and a variety of side dishes. Approximately 60 family members and friends attended. The bride and groom chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

Following a honeymoon trip to Jamaica the couple will reside in Livingston.
