Richards DAR House to hold Christmas events this Saturday and Sunday

The Richards DAR House Museum in Mobile will hold its annual Christmas celebration Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Each room of the 1860 Italianate townhouse at 256 N. Joachim Street in historic De Tonti Square will be decorated around a gift from the Twelve Days of Christmas. The 12 foot Christmas tree in the front parlor will be adorned with handmade ornaments. Guests will be served spiced tea and refreshments in the formal dining room. Singers, dancers and other musicians will provide live entertainment.

On Saturday, Santa will hand out treats beside a tree decorated by local children. On Sunday, author John Sledge will sign copies of his new book, "An Ornament to the City." Admission is a $5 donation.

For more information and directions, contact the Richards DAR House Museum at 251-208-7320.
