Williams makes good on bad check to library

Dear Editor,

The Grove Hill Public Library Board would like to thank The Democrat for its continued coverage of events and news articles at the library. The staff and board appreciate this service.

We would like for your readers to know that Mr. Nick Williams replaced the 2005 check for $1466.66 that was returned because the date had expired. He also brought a check for $1,866.66 for 2006. This money is greatly needed by the library to help with operating expenses.

The board and staff of the Grove Hill Public Library would like to wish you and your staff a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Helen Hicks, Secretary

Grove Hill Public

Library Board

Editor’s note: Then State Rep. Nick Williams gave a state appropriation to the local library but the time had expired on the check and it bounced. Williams was defeated in the general election by Marc Keahey who used the bounced check as a campaign issue.
