When most Americans think of Muscular Dystrophy, they picture Jerry Lewis surrounded by children during the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Labor Day Telethon. Mrs. Rebecca Bradford and DECA members decided to join in and raised $619 to support Muscular Dystrophy research by selling paper footballs to be displayed in the school’s hallway with the name of the person who purchased it and the sports team he or she supports. Muscular Dystrophy, is not just one disorder, but a group of nine inherited muscle disorders. And although many of its forms have symptoms which begin in infancy and childhood, some types begin in young adulthood and even in middle age. Mr. John Conner’s and Mrs. Lois Davis’ classes raised the most money for MDA.
