T’ville, Leroy, Sweet Water play for titles!
B’ham Bound!
Three teams from within a 50 mile or so span in south Alabama will be competing for state titles in the “Super Six” state championship playoffs on Birmingham’s Legion Field Thursday through Saturday. Thomasville, along with Sweet Water and Leroy, will be among the 12 teams vying for Alabama High School Athletic Association football crowns. Leroy will face Woodland today (Thursday) at 3 p.m. in the Class 2A finals while Thomasville will play Guntersville at 7 p.m.

for the Class 4A title. Sweet Water will face Cedar Bluff Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in Class 1A. In another local connection, Don English of Grove Hill will be the head referee in the Class 6A game between Hoover and Prattville Saturday afternoon. WJDB Radio will carry the Leroy and Thomasville games and WIN- 98 will broadcast the Sweet Water game. WJTC-44 will carry the games on television.
