‘Smiling’ courthouse tree features 178 people
This year's tree is a little different-178 or so smiling faces of Grove Hill residents decorate the tree. Each photograph is on a different snowflake to symbolize how different and unique each individual is. The idea was the brainstorm of two fairly new Grove Hill residents, Janeen Miller and Carol Orler. They went around town snapping photographs of working Grove Hillians and said they had a ball doing it and getting to meet people they did not know, or knew only superficially. The photographs were glued to the snowflake decorations and hung on the tree. Other decorations on the tree include paper cutout “smiles.” The tree has been nicknamd the “Smiling Tree.”
