English set to call 6A game
Grove Hill’s Don English will get the opportunity to referee one of the state’s championship games again this year. He will be wearing the white hat in the 6A game between Hoover and Prattville. English will also be pulling double duty by running the clock in one of the other title games. In 2004 English, pictured above, was the head referee in the 5A championship game between Russellville and Homewood. Only 30 officials statewide will be used for all of the duties, both on-field, the sidelines and in the booth.
