Out of state family enjoyed visits

Chance native Dot Dotson, her two daughters, Lillie (Bea), Betty and grandson, Willie were

h o m e recently for a visit. They t r a v e l e d f r o m Cincinnati, Ohio and F l i n t , Michigan. While home they enjoyed visiting with M r s . D o t s o n ' s son, Henry and his family. They also enjoyed visits from other family and friends including Mrs. Nettie Dotson, Mrs. Retha Marshall and Andy Welch. Many other family and friends also visited. I certainly enjoyed visiting with them and miss them terribly. They stay just long enough for one to get used to seeing them daily and then its back off to the big city! We all look forward to other visits soon.

Happy Birthday! Greetings are extended to the following community members who will celebrate their birthday during the month of December: David Bettis-12/15, Charles R. Morrissette-12/25, Veronica Taite-12/4, Lillian Stabler-12/9, Eddie R. Welch-12/22, Henry Lee Welch-12/17.

Mrs. Maxie Taite continues to enjoy the company of her daughter, Shirley who is visiting with her while she recovers from knee surgery. Shirley lives in Oakland, Calif. Mrs. Taite is recovering well and is happy to be home from the rehabilitation center where she stayed immediately after surgery.

Condolences are extended to the family of Watson Taite Jr., (Buddy) whose funeral was held Sunday, Dec. 10 from the Truevine Baptist Church in Scyrene. He was the son of Mrs. Evelean Taite of Scyrene and the late Watson Taite Sr.

Condolences are also extended to the family of Mrs. Elmer Bettis (Tot) who passed away on Sunday, Dec. 10. She is a

native of Chance and the sister of Mrs. Retha Marshall of Chance. As of this writing, funeral arrangements are incomplete.
