Jax police make arrests for robbery

Three Jackson men have been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred in the Depot area Nov. 23.

Mario Marquez King, 20, Felix James King, 30 and Jeremy Ladell West, 25, were arrested Dec. 10, charged with first degree robbery and are being held in the Clarke County Jail. The three were suspected of robbing a 53-year-old man who was driving his vehicle on East Ross Street, Thanksgiving Day.

The victim was able to identify two of the suspects and police officers were able to develop information which led to the identity of the third person, according to Chief Charles Burge.

West was arrested around 3:15 p.m., Sunday, after Officer Norman “Buzzy” Jordan observed him run into an apartment in the Grove Apartments complex on Grove Drive. Sgt. Willie Williams and Officer Jason Thomas assisted in the arrest.

Officer Thomas arrested Mario King at approximately 4:20 p.m. the same afternoon after officers received information that he was in an apartment in the Grove Apartments complex. He was found hiding under a bed. Sgt. Williams and Officer Jordan assisted in the arrest.

Officer Ben Marshall observed the third suspect, Felix King, walking on East Ross Street at approximately 9:35 p.m. King ran into a wooded area and the Jackson Police used their recently obtained thermal imaging camera to locate him. Officer Marshall and Sgt. Josh Garrett arrested King in a wooded area off of Warren Street.

All three men were transported to the Clarke County Jail Monday morning. According to Chief Burge, the men all have extensive police records.
