CPS Gators perfect 6-0

The Clarke Prep School Gators boys’ basketball team remained perfect on the season as they beat Monroe Academy 50-44 Monday night.

Chad Dickinson led CPS with 21 points. Taylor Becton added 16 points. Tanner Tucker had nine points. Marcus Etherdidge had four points and 12 rebounds.

Last Saturday the Gators beat Morgan 47-45 to capture the Pepsi Classic tourney. It marked the first time CPS had won a single game in the tourney.

The Gators scored 19 points in the final period, all by Dickinson, who had 31 total points. Etheridge had 15 rebounds. Coach Bill McNair praised the play of Grant Newton on the boards as well.

On Friday night CPS beat Wilcox 49-43 in Selma.

Dickinson led the way with 25 points. Etheridge had 10 points.

Tucker had seven points. Becton added five points. McNair again was pleased with the defensive work of Etheridge and Newton.

The Gators beat Patrician 47- 28 on Monday, Dec. 4 in Butler.

Dickinson had 21 points. Etherdige added nine points. Becton had eight points.

They return to action Monday as they travel to Jackson to take on the Eagles. Game time is 1 p.m.
