Williams

William Boyd Williams Jr., 87, of Dublin, Ga. died Dec. 13, 2006 at Carl Vinson V.A. Medical Center in Dublin, Ga.

He was born April 21, 1919 in Thomasville. He Dudley Baptist Church in Dudley, Ga. and a former member of Elam Baptist Church in Thomasville. He was a veteran of World War II. He served in the Marine Corps for six years, three of which were in the South Pacific. He retired from Brookley Field in Mobile. He was a life member of the VFW and DAV veterans organizations.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Sullivan Williams, Dublin, Ga.; one son, Anthony (Marilyn) Williams, Grove Hill; one daughter, Carol (Jerry) Duncan, Dublin, Ga.; two sisters, Pattie Moore, Chicaksaw, Virginia McMullins, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters, one son, Stephen Williams; one grandson, Jeremy Williams.

The service was Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. at Elam Baptist Church with Rev. Warren Huggins officiating. Burial was in the Elam Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.

Active pallbearers were Kelly Carr, Jerry Duncan Jr., Todd Keel, Tim Letson, Tommy Reid, Jimmy Snodgrass, Jason Williams and Mark Williams.

Honorary pallbearers were the men of Elam Baptist Church and VFW Post #5106 of Thomasville.
